Lefkippos is managed by the Innovation Office of NCSR Demokritos, staffed with skilled personnel ready to support innovation-driven ideas and entrepreneurship. The Office maintains long-term collaborations with experts in Technology Transfer, who address specific issues related to intellectual property rights, VC funding, international networking, other business-oriented legal aspects etc.
The operation of Lefkippos is overseen by a five-member Advisory Committee of Researchers who often acts as liaison, communicating special needs and aspirations of companies to Demokritos’ Administration. All the executive decisions are made by the Board of Directors of the Centre.
Innovation Support at Lefkippos comes step by step:
It starts with the support of the Researchers, their ideas and discoveries. Research groups can be consulted and if needed coached either to start a spin-off or to negotiate a licensing agreement of their IP or research-related services.
Once a company is founded it can readily access space at Lefkippos, and receive support either in pursuing research grants, in proof-of-concept demonstrations, in attracting VC investments, participate in innovation-competitions and find necessary partners.
For the entire tenure of a company at Lefkippos it receives constant support in networking and publicity activities, in direct access to specialized laboratories, in the construction of prototypes and eventually in scaling-up.
