Demokritos becomes the first Research Center in Greece to receive funding from the European Investment Bank. With a total budget of € 48.3 million, the project involves the construction of four new buildings: Nanotechnology, Information Technology and Telecommunications, Chemical Biology and a new building for the expansion of the Technology Park “Lefkippos”. It will also support the renovation of seven Centre buildings including research laboratories and administrative spaces.
In a short period of time, Demokritos will be a “smart, autonomous and green campus” ready to meet the challenges of the exponential changes in research and technology and contribute to the growth of the Greek economy by capitalizing the unique opportunities technology brings.
